The Questionables

We all have them, projects that have gone awry.

Sweaters that linger at the end of the bed waiting for a bit of completion, that zipper or finishing button.

I am not immune, I know I am not alone. So when is enough enough?

When do you decide that the yarn is better served in another project?

I have a few confusing projects at the moment. A few however are straight forward finishes.

These two need to be finished with zippers. 

Yup, just zippers, thankfully.... but also I am not great at zippers, the last one I tried did not work out so well. So I think I have to take some time to check out a tutorial and then get the zipper in. So that is the stall. Time to watch a video on zippers. lol

This sweater is too short to wear much, but I do like it enough to wear it.

So I have to undo the base and knit it longer. I have yarn, but I don't really have much info on it, I don't know the needle size as it pre-dates Ravelry. IS that possible? Yes, yes it is. So not only do I have to take out the base edge I have to try needles out to see what works..... another road block but not insurmountable.

Frogging! for sure!

No discussion needed..... it's a goner.

This little number is a bit of a issue for me. I like the pattern and I have some to finish, but more than I though. So frog or finish the knitting and put it together.....

I waffle a bit on this one because it should be a very useable sweater when all is said and done. It currently lives in my working basket, so I can move on to it once my current project is complete, but I seem to keep avoiding it. So I will have to keep considering the pros and cons. It's no so far from being done that it will be a terrible slog, but I still have two front pieces to make. This is why I usually knit in the round.... less procrastination about completing pieces.

This blue number is a good sweater, but I never wear it. It's a sad combination of being too bulky for me and a mis-matching of pattern/yarn. Lionbrand Homespun was not made to be a sweater for my chubby little body! So as a result I think a frogging or give away is in order.... can't decide.

This next one is my Central Park Hoodie, I used it alot... but mostly under a vest. It's warm and lovely, but not long enough...... so I'd have to make it longer or totally re-knit it. depending on the construction. I am unsure whether I knit it in one piece or in pieces.

The good thing is I have more yarn and I have the details on Ravelry, so I can find a solution readily enough. This one was a great knit and if I did have a piecing issue I could totally see myself making another. No sweat, I like the sweater and I want to wear it more, but fit issues are a problem. So this one will also have some specific consideration go into it.

Following that we have a recently completed object. The Oatmeal Playmate.

Another problem sweater. A great knit, a nice fit....... but see how the collar pulls up in front? Yea, re-knit that in five different variations to get a good fit...... this was the last. None worked for me. So good house sweater? Or just wait a few months for my hatred to subside and try another method?  So many choices. My last sweater object for this post is a red wool sweater that is mt first personal steeking project.

I am glad I knit it and I have a problem that was out of my control. My animal was sick on the arm..... and I couldn't salvage the yarn. So the trouble here is that I don't have the same amount of wool needed to finish the arms, (no ordering more, it was discontinued a few years ago) however the baggie you see sitting on the side is remarkably similar. if not the same red. So it may work. I only cut the steek on the sleeve I was working on so that if I decided to frog I wouldn't loose the whole sweater. This one is less of a question for me. After having the yarns out in the lovely sunlight it was hard to tell them apart, which gives me a good feeling about substituting the Cascade in.

Wow, this was a long post with my sweater issues. Hope I didn't bore you and as I find my solutions I will update. My plan is to have them sorted by the end of the summer, when I will start needing sweaters again!

I have some Fo's

Really I have a finished object or two kicking around. It is not just a rumor that I have been perpetuating.

The Blue Sedum I have mentioned is complete... and a button shopping expidition may be called for. I agree Aesderina. So no more new pics of that.... I will wait for buttons.

I did also complete some fantastic Mittens! My Canadian Pride Mittens by Vicky Taylor-Hood. I can't link to a site other than Ravelry, my apoligies if you are not on it. The pattern is available  free through Ravelry if you want to make them yours. She calls them  O Canada Mittens I love them... the pattern is easy, and it added a new skill to my repitoir. The braided edging. A technique that I have already put to use on a new mitten project. This I think will kick off my year of mittens... not that I will be knitting 52 pairs or anything, but I have many patterns that I want to make and they are small and portable.... just like socks, but intresting in a different way. Anyway more mittens are coming but first let me show these off.

Back to the mittens, as I have small hands I used the modification provided, and went to town. They are lovely, and just in time for spring!
I used Patons Classic Wool....  about half a ball of each colour. So, affordable, quick and warm... go knit a pair! LOL

So currently on the needles I am in sleeve purgatory. The Ox Blood pattern knits the yoke to the sleeves and then you knit the sleeves before continuing with the body. Very cool, so I went with it. So, one project working on sleeves.

The second is the Iron ore sweater.... waiting to be steeked at the arms so I can begin sleeves. Since I am trying a new steek reinforcement I am not sure if it is the not wanting to cut or not wanting to knit sleeves.....

Last but not least I began the Essential Cardigan from the latest Interweave Knits. The Tangled Yoke wasn't working fot me and The stars aligned.... so I cast on and decided that I really should get the sleeves out tof the way if they are something that I really don't like knitting...... riiiight.

I do have the pair of mittens that I mentioned, but I began them once and they were huge, so I ripped them out and have started again, so Ihave no reall progress to show you. Two pairs of socks, one of the circular needles I do majic loop with snapped off in a filing cabinet accident and I am sharing the needle for both pairs. The Coastal Swallowtail is also still on the needles, but i just took a refresher on the beads and I think that after this post is done I will sit with it on my bed and make some progress. I think that's it for my current projects. I guess I just really want to be knitting new things..... spring startitis. I can say proudly that all objects are using yarn from my stash! I love my stash..... and I have so many thoughts on what to knit next. More on that in another post. Enjoy your weekend. Knit on, create more, make art!

Hello... how are you?

Hi there! Busy long weekend in the works? Not for me.
At least, I hope note.
So far this morning I was at 88 Stitches for a nice sit and stitch with the owner and a pal of mine. Lovely muffins and coffee on a blustery day.
Then on my way home I stopped in at a favorite nursery for potting soil and two new house plants.
Now I am blocking shawls, blogging and spending sometime getting back on line. I seem to be exhausted when I get home from work lately, so I avoid the computer altogether ..... but hey, What can I say. I really want to see what everyone is up to so I really can't stay away. LOL

So news. Fibres West was a great day last Saturday. Jane has a great little synopsis on her blog ... go check it out. There was a great vendors area, althought no presentations that we wanted to see while we were there. Lots of local yarnies, and some great hand-dyers.
We saw some friends grabbed some lunch and spent some money. I wish I had planned a little better, last year I had notes on the patterns I was intrestd in and the yardage i would need..... not so much this year. I was just happy to have some time out with the gal pals.

The Three purchases.
One: Soak Unleashed I was out of wool wash, and this was at a booth, YAY!

Two: Sweet Georgia's Silk Crush Sock Yarn ..... yummmy. The color is named "Saltwater" and this photo does not do it justice. It is beautifully deep and a lighter shade of blue. Not softer, just lighter, if that makes sense.

Three: Licorice twist from Unwind Yarns, which I have been stalking for a year. I wished that I had bought it last year and so this year I found it and took it home.

I was wearing my completed Central Park Hoodie! YAY  I finally finished it. I love wearing it! It Is so warm and comfy, so I am considering making a second ..... we shall see.

I have started a new sweater and I am not really  along enough to show it off, so I will save that for another day. In short it's a design by my friend Jane, mentoned above, called Sedum. I did have much in my stash that would work for it, so I was doing some swatching, and  finally settled on a yarn that I already own. That makes the process way easier, so I started, and I am almost to the arms which makes it just a strip of knitting at the moment. As I said pictures when it is a little farther along.

Hope you are well and getting up to something that intrests you. I look forward to reading about it. I think my next post will be about something neat to get up to on rainy days......

Another update and another Baby Suprise Jacket!

Seriously!

I do love the versatility of these little things.... I am spreding the good word, especially to knitters who have very little "pattern" experience, this is all knit... and a few tweaks! I am hoping to get a few people knitting these little jackets, even if they are feeling like they don't have enough experience..... nonsense. They are fantastic!

I decided that I wanted to understand a bit more about the stripes that I have seen on various scrap, leftover BSJ's I wanted to understand how the striping would travel if I knit two strips of colour at the begining and one near the end. The results were the front

and the back.

I have this one on the needles now, where I began with one colour and I am obviously using some leftovers from another colour to finish up. These two experiments have been fun, and still quick to knit.... I do have a bit more to weave in however....

I have a progress shot of the back of the Central Park Hoodie. I think it is going very well, but because it is supposed to be a KAL and the others are not begun, or knitting as much as I am. I have only been knitting this on Knit nights. I think that I will have to speed this up though, as much as I am intrested in KALing with them, I do want to wear this sweater... that is the goal for me. I may have to knit a bit more during this weekend. Maybe finish the back, and begin a front. Who knows, I may not even get to it...

I do enjoy the way this is looking though, and I think that the others will too... I do know that it is knitting up fast for me, and that is always a bonus.

I guess I am just to impaitent to be knitting for me, and I do like the product at the end!

I am very close to being complete the hunters vest, I will be re-measuring for length tomorrow (or tonight) and hopefully binding off so that I may steek..... I think I really just have to bite the bullet and do it. I am knitting with wool, and some people don't even re-inforce the knitting with wool, as the fibers grab naturally. We shall see, I promise pics and a report.

Fibres West was this weekend, a few girlfriends, and my Mom went with me on Friday night. I picked up some fantastic New Zealand wool, at a great price from Twist of Fate. It is a chocolate brown colour, so now all I have to do is decide what pattern I want to use with it.

The festival was smaller this year than in years past, but as this is the first year that it has a new group at the helm, that is totally to be expected. I still enjoyed the booths, and obviously found some goodies. In this economy I really feel that supporting the local vendors is important! Hopefully next year there will be more, I wonder if they will need a planning comittee, I should try to volunteer!

Hello weekend!

So here we are... some update shots on some of my current projects.

Here is the Rusted Root in a blue Bamboo., I haven't gotten to the end of the first ball yet and this lovely is almost 6" long! I love that, I may have to do some more work with this bamboo... it's silky, drapey, soft, smooth and lovely, and it comes in a great red! See... told you I liked it. I just hope that it holds up okay as a top, I hear around the bloglines that if something is too drapey then it can be not cool for garment shaping over time.

Also here are the socks that I have made for my Mom... in a new wool Knit Picks Palett, I thought I would like to try it out so I have it for a small project. Not bad, a bit splitty. The heel is done and I want to finish the cuff this weekend.

Last but not least on the project front, my slipper collection... I am using a pair as I type. Knit from Briggs & Little Regal and felted up nicely. I used the Fiber Trends clog pattern and loved it! The blue ones are also for my Mom. She knows about the slippers, but not the socks a nice suprise.
As you can see I am totally NOT in the proper colour ranget his month for Project Spectrum, but hey I do have an Icarus shaw in white happening... I just want to get a few other things finished so I can have less WIP's. So much to knit, so little time lately. I feel like I have to keep putting stuff on hold because all the knitting time that I get needs to be easy so I don't mess something up. For example, my Embers & Ashes blanket fro my pal James must wait until I get a new pair of addi turbos..... as my pair broke. Dismal, but true. I am using the 12mm size in 120cm, which means that it is a flexible tube of plastic.... and it pulled right out of the metal needle tip as I was shifing stitches to finish a row. Bummer. I will have them into my LYS this week to be replaced, but I have to root through the boxes of unpacked crafty stuff to find the envelope. oh well... the afghan isn't ruined and being stalled is where it's been for the last month at least, so it's used to it.

I am getting some fantastic free yarn tomorrow from a ravelry pal, on her way home to Nanimo. I am super excited... I want to make a CPH out of some of it... I may donate a bit to the Knit in Public day. but I think I am making a tea cozy for sure right away. I do have some other yarny news, but it must remain covert for a little while... you never know who may be reading.

Too long to wait!

So it has been a little while since my last post. Sorry not to have kept up.
I feel poopy today, and I am a bit down cuz my DF is off on a hunting trip with two buddies. Not that I couldn't have gone, but I don't have all the certification that I need yet. Any how, he will be off in the bush so I worry a wee bit. I have the location and they have GPS, and all that stuff so everything willbe fine. What can I say, I worry.

Anyhow, he has the camera this weekend so when I have FO's I won't be able to post until Tuesday! *dang it*

So I am done the body of the top-down raglan pictured below, and I am almost done the right sleeve. Then the left side and all is done!! YAY!! I am planning on taking this weekend while the man is away to sit and relax a bit.... watch movies he doesn't want to see! LOL

I have done the handwarmers for my DF, they were for this weekend. I have to keep him warm! He has a hat, scarf, socks and now handwarmers from me! I have to get some thicker socks made however and another pair of handwarmers too..... don't want him to have issues if he looses one! LOL Backups are the best idea!

So I also finished another baby blanket and have started a third in the bubbles yarn from Bernat. Yes more for my sister's group of friends. LOL I am going to have to start charging her!
I will be starting on one or two new sweaters this weekend I hope. I have the Rogue ready and waiting.... and I really want to make the Central Park hoodie. You should see the one that Knittypants has up on her site! I love the yarn she has chosen! I have been pondering using that very yarn for a sweater or two! It is so nice to see the Briggs & Little Heritage "Anniversary Twist" used in a garment! She mentions that it is a tough yarn, but I wonder if it is a bit softer on the skin after washing and wearing a few times....... hmmmmmm.

Well, I hope you all had a great day of turkey, family and friends! I know I did! YAY pumpkin pie! LOL

Here is the start of my newest Top-Down Raglan. I have had this in my stash for ages and I think that it is time to use it up! I was given it and instructed that I could not use thes two huge balls of colourful, oatmeal based aran weight to make an afghan....... darn. So here I am a few years later and I finally have a use for at least one ball! I am not sure if I will have to go over to the other to finish the sleeves, but I will find out in a bit! Since I already have a back-up supply I am not really worried about needing extra!

I decided to add a detail along the sleeves and along the sides under the arms...... cables!

You can see them in there along the sleeve begining. Also a close up of the yarn. I have to admit I am guilty of not knowing what yarn it is, but I can check with the extra ball for the ball band and report in later. The cable is a simple 6 stitch one. I feel like I have said this before, in a previous post so I won't ramble much about it now, but in the re-cap when it is done.

Hey-lo

So another weekend has tromped on by and I have started packing my things. DF and I have taken out a storage space, and that means that we can store things that we have no space for in our current residence. LOL Kinda obvious I know.... but we also spent Sunday clearing out his grandfather's condo so it can go on the market. Furiture abounds in the storage unit already! I wish we had not come by it the way we did, but that is something that has passed. DF was there for him in the end, so that was a blessing.
So I have already started packing my stash! LOL I have quite a few projects for the next little while, and I don't need it all within arms reach! Down the road at the storage facility will be fine!
Now it's a matter of what to pack next! Hopefully with all this advanced packing, we can find ourselves a new place to move into!

Anyway..... I finished my stripey top-down.... pics to follow.

Tonight is knit night, and I think we may have some new bodies stop by! That would be fantastic, I met a new friend through Craftster and she moved to my town..... so I invited her out to join our knit group.... easy as that. She knows people who attend her school who have similar likes and intrests in fiber arts! So who know we may have three new bodies! :D

I have no idea what I want to start first but it may end up being Mr Greenjeans!
I just love it! The style is fabulous! And the amount of fiber to use is attractive too! :)

I have also been spyin on MagKnits and I found this fantastic pattern! Sweet way to use some of that fantastic coloured sock yarn isn't it?! I love this idea and think that the fact that my LYS is having a yarn sale is just too much torture for a girl! I have to confess I already splurged and bout myself enough fantastic fiber for 3 new sweaters!!! Yikes and YOW! LOL
So I guess there is my stash-expansion confessional! My friend at Illuminating Soul picked up her first drop spindle and is loving it..... she hasn't put it down since her first lesson! We were wicked together! LOL she is looking for some insight on a business name so pop by if you can and help a girl out! LOL

As for what I am up to with all that new, soft, wooly goodness...... not much! Dang it!
I have a few things on the needles already and I know that I want to get some stuff done so I have to get what I am working on now DONE! That top-down raglan is coming along nicely. I don't think I will have it done in the next day though..... yesterday I had to rest my are due to an injury that keeps flaring up..... I don't want to over tax my arm, so I can only get a bit of knitting in in the day...... better to be safe than sorry!
I am working on a few things that I can 't divulge due to their swappy nature, I will take pictures and have those available once the packet is in it's new home!
I also hope to have some information on other things that I have gotten up to lately.... I have a wedding fair to go to on Sunday, so that should be interesting.... and a few other crafty things up my sleeve for this upcoming week. Have a great weekend!

As Promised

Here we are some images of my completed projects! The Baby blankets..... I know that I have to weave in those ends, but I wanted pics before I forget! LOL

I feel like I haven't finished a thing lately, maybe that has to do with the fact that I haven't really completed anything for myself! Here is the top-down Raglan I started..... I put the sleves on the stitch holders this afternoon. On 5mm needles, Caron Simply Soft in two colours...... as I mentioned in the craftster post I can't get this yarn in Canada so I had to make a be-line for the border and pick some up in WM near Bellis Fair! Wow is this stuff inexpensive! And super soft, have to say I like it!

Thanks for the lovely compliments on the shawl! As I said before I hope to have another started soon...... more weddings! LOL. Here she is modeling it for another guest taking a picture! LOL She actually wore it when she arrived at the reception, but I was off being a sneaky friend and getting their house ready for the first night! So I didn't get a photo of that, but I am sure many did so I will comendere one at the first oppurtunity........YAY!

Isn't she pretty! Even the groom commented on how impressed he was! LOL

Knitting!!!
YAY!!!
Here is my progress on my Wicked: almost done the shaping. I have extended it a bit as I have heard that many people wish it was longer, and it does look short on them. So I decided to be proactive but I only added about an inch so far.... we shall see! I love this! It knits up so great.... and the yarn is great to work with! I have also heard a rumor that WOTA from knitpicks is scratchy, I hope not. It has been great to work with so far! I guess I will have to finish this one before I can order more in other colours! To be on the safe side! :)

So I also have news about my pinup girl swap! I got my box!!! Look at all the goodies! ( BTW that little pink knitting up ther with wicked...... was for my partner Chimerix for this swap. I can't tell you what it was.... it may spoil the suprise! Ihope she likes it!

We agreed to spoil each other! She kept her end of the bargian, and I have to say that I feel no anxiety at this stage about my end either! I got tons of goodies! She is a seamstress so she made me things that I would never have made for myself! She doesn't knit..... so I did the same!

Sunny Weather!

So it's sunny outside and it has been warm for the past few weeks!

Boy do I have a tan...... except on my legs. I wear pants to work and it really shows...

So today I think that I will take my knitting project outside to catch some rays in my shorts to try and even this issue out! LOL

I do have update photos on my Wicked.... but I don't have the dock to download!!!

So I will have to post again tomorrow or Monday with some knitting eye candy!

I have been knitting a new project too, for my Pinup swap 3.

I got my pacage in the mail and boy did I get spoiled! I am so glad that my return package spoils her too! LOL No swap anxiety for me! no sir!

YAY! I was the happy happy girl who had two swap packet arrive this week!

So after a few very, very tiring days at work...... I got goodies! YAY!!!! LOL

So this first one is a packet from the March Wishlist swap on craftster....... thanks to AsphaltQueen! Sari yarn! eeeeeeeeeeee!!! A great journal, a gong (desk sized), lovely hand made cards and a bag of rings from her wedding that she kindly sent so that I may have them for my wedding if I need them! YAY! Thanks so much..... I already posted in the swap gallery so she knows that I have it! Too great!

And this second one was from last month's swap..... a giraffe on a t-shirt made just for me! She was totally great! SO you see what the giraffe is made of? All the spots are SKULLS!!!!

LOL!!! Such a cool touch! she knew that I liked giraffes and skulls! LOL Thanks Bigmouth!!

April wishlist is in full swing with myself organizing again. So far last month was HUGE but this month is shaping up nicely! Stop by...... check it out......

Thanks for the well wishing.... I was sick all last week, but I went to work cuz I really don't have to worry about passing it on to others. Another benefit of working outside! I have some lovely pictures from this past week and I will share them later. So much sunshine!! Makes things move right along, and work a pleasure! I will have a tan in no time, I better pull out the sunscreen soon.

So my brown sweater had to be put aside for a bit due to a swap project that I have been creating, no sleeves yet, but I am hoping to get that remedied tonight! I am still trying to get some work done on Mariah, as well as plan the next sweaters. I have decided on Sonnet and Sesame for the next two, swatching has commenced but other than that I am sad to say I have nothing to report. This week I have all my swap packets to send out though, so I will have some pics of the finished goodies in those and have time to get back on track on my own projects! I did get some dyeing in this weekend, but I was coughing so hard all night thother night, I barely slept and didn't feel like tacking my other projects this weekend! Oh am I glad to feel better today!

I also promised an update of my sweater........ this is the Buttony sweater from ohmystars. Gotta get the arms on and the buttons too, but other than that not bad huh? This would me my "March" sweater..... yes I am still working on Feburary. I still love it too! I have been swatching for "April" and "May" LOL. Who dosen't love sweaters!

About time for a fresh post...

Well, I think so anyway!
I finished the body of the Buttony sweater that I am in a KAL for.
Now onto the sleeves, I just have to get that hat off the needles! LOL

I was at the Weavers and Spinners Guild meeting for Langley last night. I saw some fantastic work, spoke to some lovely people, and generally had a good time. Fiberfest is coming up in Abbotsford at the Tradex May 10-11. I wonder if I will have time to volunteer...... that would be cool! I did however get a second job lined up so I may not be able to. Gotta put away that money for a house, and to make that debt go away.

So I have been carding the fleece that I dyed. I can't wait to try spinning it, but first I have to send some out. I promised some to a friend and I am sending to Australia for my current swap. Yes, the one that I am organizing..... I had to join, everyone is so great! LOL

Oh and I was the recipient of a gift today. Faye gave me a shalish weaving loom.... and some of her own handspun fiber! She even had some form her ram "Sam" he was a dark thing! I hope to have pictures very soon, of everything! LOL

So I have a few things to post this weekend, but my grandmother is flying in from Toronto and we are cleaning alot today, I had hoped to finish off the sleeves for my Mariah, but I have no idea if that will happen!
So I am updating to let you (those who pop in from time to time) know that I am working on stuff, and I do miss giving you pictures, but I will fix that soon!!

I think that I don't have as many shirts as I thought! I may have to scour the thrift shops, too bad the mian one here is VV and the pricing seems to have changed recently! (a bit high... like, 7.99 for a tie! no kidding) So I am glad to say that there are two other locally owned and run shops that I feel deserve my business, the Bibles for Missions, and Penny Pinchers...... both are for local charities, I know that ther are a few downtown that are for the SPCA, but I don't know where... suggestions? Thrift stores in the Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam, Aldergrove areas that are still thrift stores?!?!?! I appreciate the help! On a different note I joined the Relay for life! YAY the Beach Babes ride again!!!! Now I have a link page and everything!! So I have ideas for that too, I have to send out an e-mail to the tewm, I want to make shirts for us this year! We didn't have any last year, and I wan tto do it!! I hav egreat plans! If any of my teammates are listening........ pick up a shirt that I can paint for you, purple or blue.........and machine washable! YAY!! I will post some pics when I can...

So I think I will start with the lovely FQ's I got from xladyluckx in my swap!They are sooooooo lovely!
I think that you will like them! I have no idea what to do with them yet! I wonder if I will have to take up quilting! LOL I may have to! With this kind of haul, I would want to have it on display though! How else to do that, than have it laid out on a bed! I think that I could crazy quilt....... it could work. I think....................
So that will be a nice addition to the fabric that I have already! The colours are true! YUMMY. So, let's see..... now what to show you.

Here is part of the order from Knit Picks..... the Talemark that I got to make a few hats! The colour is pretty true, I was a bit suprised at how dark the "rosemary" in the lower right was whn I got it, but I think that it will still work.

I want to make "We call them Pirates" from Hello Yarn..... this should be fun! Green for the fiance, black and white for my brother, and the grey's for me. I got the purple just in case I have extras enough to make another hat...... so then I have another full ball of colour...
Once I know if it works ok, I have a few more hat plans that this yarn could work for! I can't wait to try this!!! Hello yarn is great they have a blank chart that is to the same specs as this hat plan, and you can do whatever you want! LOL


So I picked up some sock weight yarn that can be hand dyed, this is going to be so much fun! I can Wilton dye them!!!
I have some other white wool that I will probably add to the pot! I love to do this stuff, it always ends up unique.... and who doesn't love unique.
This will be some great fun, and I hope that it leads to a pair of great socks.....



So now we come to the reason that I ordered wool in the first place....The Sesame sweater that I want to make..... The colour on the pic is not true unfortunatally, dam that! I love the yarn though, so that is the good part, it's a heatherd green (called Forest Heather funny that) and it sings in the sunshine, so lovely. Wool of the Andes from Knit Picks.

I suppose that I should mention, all the lovelies that I bought are 100% wool, which is quite impressive shince I didn't pay that much! so here is that great mass of wool...... 12 balls total.


And last but not least, a update image of the double knit scarf! I have worked on it since then, so it is a bit longer already! This is working out really well, and I have a plan for the next one already! Thanks again Crafty Chick! I love this idea! I don't think that my next one will be stars, I either want to do diamonds, or a skull pattern, I am so predictable! LOL oh well, beter do it now while I like it!
So what else is new? I have been swatching for a top-down raglan.... and I think I may have it ready to begin. I cast on for the Sewater of many Buttons and I am working away on that, and the arms for my Mariah are getting longer! I really do have tons to do! I guess I should get on the wedding shawl for April too..... LOL man, I am nuts! The hats that I knit for the charity event went into the silen auctions, and were sold out! YAY! glad that it worked.

First a picture of the new double knitting scarf that I started last night! I had to make one..... from Crafty Chick.....(her link is on the list of blogs)

Cool isn't it I just love it already, and I still have about twelve stars to go!

So how do you like that???? LOL I am so excited! So next up we have three progress shots! The Purple sweater! made from Eco-fil yarn, and inches away from being a worn garment!

The sleeves for "Mariah" in Patons Classic merino....... yum, woolly! I have to say that it does get easier as I have been going, now that I understand the cables it comes along faster. At the beginning however it was not so! I am hoping that I can finish at least the sleeves for this month! maybe more but I won't hold my breath! I am knitting both sleeves at once however so I will have them both done at the same time! That is the good news, you can see the second sleeve peeking in the bottom of the shot there.

My friend Cathy has been waiting so patiently for her blanket..... and it's done!!! LOL (thank goodness!) time consuming! a vibrant pink just for her!!!

So, that is the end of the pictures! No more time consuming downloading of this post! I do have a few other things that I am working on but haven't posted.... a few more of the white hats for a charity event, I am planning on starting the "Buttony" sweater that has a thread on craftster..... aka "Sweater of many buttons", and I am trying to gauge swatch for a top down raglan...... in a totally inappropriate weight of yarn! LOL I hope that I can make it work, I think that it will be great! No knitpicks package yet! That means that I cannot show you the goodies that I have ordered.

I did make a stop myself at the post office today..............to drop off the last swap packet of this month. Once kistchkween has it I will post pics of all the lovelies that I sent OUT this month!

As promised

I said that my next post would be a bit less photo centered.
Here you go! I hope that this make the page easier to load........ because before Monday I am going to have two sweater updates to add kids!
You may have noticed that I have the Sweater a month KAL on my list of blogs that I visit....
I am trying! I have started February's and am eagerly anticipating Marches fiber to arrive!

Yes I ordered more yarn....................... I am a bad stash reducer! I know that this will be well worth it! I have some great projects to make and I need to test out potential types of yarn. So I will also show off that box when it arrives.......

but we all get to fall off the wagon once................. I want to keep up with my resolutions I swear, but I have no green yarn, and March means green in the craft-a-long.
I have two thoughts on my yarn splurge.

1. I have a gapinng hole in the colour spectrum of my yarn, and I am obviously needing project spectrum, and the craft a long to keep me from being totally clothed in blue!!!! LOL

2. I agree with knitty knitter................. my brain has issues stopping the massive ideas rolling around my head, for example on the weekend we were staying at a friends house and I couldn't sleep........ I was planning touques to knit for the entire household! (four people....my other half, myself and our fabulous hosts.) So I can't try to make these things while I am stuck with no pallet!

If that isn't enough justification, I can't knit my sweater in the car...... or with anything distracting happening like chatting with friends...... or I mess up on the cable chart, so I need easier, more portable work......................
dam, I don't really even need an enabler, I can enable myself thank you! LOL
we shall see................... I think that this may be the free pass I allow myself, as I did pick up several projects worth of yarn. Now I have no free pass, thank god I lasted at least this long! LOL

well this will be a downer

It's true...... I have no FO's
I did finnish a baby blanket for my sister..... so that counts. But it means that the purple sweater is still on it's needles and it TAUNTS me!

I have worked on it! I swear....... I think that I like this yarn, but I will not be using this gauge again for anything but socks for a while! (oh wait I have three shawls to knit.......nevermind)

So I am dissapointed, because I know that there are folks out there who love seeing my pics. I feel the same I love a blog with pics. It is so nice to see someone who can get stuff done!!

Sadly, I can't show you what my swap partners have sent, as I think that the border gaurds may have taken a liking to my stuff and kept it. *le sigh*

I do have news on that however....... I was picked up as a pinch crafter in another swap! O this month in addition to the Feburary Wishlist swap, and the 1/2 a Dozen Fat Quarters Swap, I am also making an apron! I think it's title is Worth Your While Apron Swap...... I think. LOL
So I will post pic's next week sometime, as the yarn is coming to an end and I have got to be close to finnnishing off the sleeves!!! Plus I have to send out goodies, and I want to have pics.....maybe I shouldn't post those.......hmmmmm we shall see! Questions, comments, strange remarks? LOL
