Happy Times!

Happy times! Yes they are! I don't have any pictures to share today or any really neat news on the knitting front..... (I did finish the first sock from my lovely handdyed, but I will show you that when the second one is more than just 3cm of ribbing on the needles!) Well, I guess I can say that a few friends and I are giving gifts this weekend, as we all had plans with our respective families this past week.......... so I am still finishing up some gifts, which is why my scarf bar hasn't really changed much.
I will have pictures of all soon!

I did pop in to wish you all the very best this Holiday season. Merry Christmas, and have a great New Year's Eve, be it quiet or loud! I hope yarn and handmade goodies made their way into your stockings this year!

Talk to you all soon................. this weekend I get my potery wheel!

What to do! Change plans!

Yes in-deedy, time is moving too quick and I have gifts to finish.... some on a stricter time line than others! My pals from Knit Night and I are planning on exchanging gifts when we see each other the week after Christmas. We all have things to do and engagements to attend! So I have a bit more time to creat for them than others who get prezzies on Tuesday! Or those at my work who are leaving for all of Christmas! Yikes!!
So I have to change my plans.....

My Ravelry queue has changed on account of the quick-er knits that I have decided to go with. Of course the things that I don't have to have done for a bit yet are pretty much done! As usual! LOL So I am off to try to bang out a neck warmer or two and maybe hats.....
I promise to post pics as soon as the suprise has been sprun for each person! Have a great time finishing your projects this week, I wish you all mimimal stress and enjoyment of egg-nog!

Actual pictures!

Hey there, I hope my confession didn't turn anyone off me....... I really am not a super b*&ch, I just have secrets like everyone! You should go back and check out Knitting Up A Storm to see the updated post that she created...... she summarized all the contes responses. Way to go Knitty Knitter!

See, I didn't fib, I do have pictures for you to see..... because I love to show off a bit. (What knitter doesn't really!)
Up first I think will be a completion shot of the We Call Them Pirates hat I made for my brother. As my fellow Knit Nighters know I was quite concerned that this hat would actually not fit my brother! Sorry gang, it did!! I will make you pretty other knit gifts for the holiday! I promise! He was such a great sport about modeling for me! He loves it and wants it, but I have to block it still!

Next are a few of the knit scarves that I have been working my way through. I still have quite a few to get through, but at least they go pretty fast. You can see both recent star scarves in this one. I think I still have a few of those left to create this holiday too! LOL, but I know that you have heard me share how much I like to make them anyway! All different types of yarn and combinations of yarns, I like to make the scarves great, thick and washable. That way whomever I give it to, they can't wreck it.

Finally I share a pair of Maple Seed Hats. I was introduced to the pattern on Craftster, but it is also very acessable on Ravelry, and I am too lazy tonight to add the links to my post........ okay I lied, but for some reason Ravelry isn't loading so I hope it will work later. I encourage you to try one if you like them, once you get the pattern repeat down they knit up super fast! It is So satisfying knowing that you are done a gift!

The white one is mine, you can see it in my profile pic up top, and the reddish one is off on it's way to my Grandmother! I guess I will have to mention that she not wash it in the machine! LOL I have a few more that I am knitting, these were both knit in Patons Classic Merino. It works great and keep you toasty plus you have the added bonus of making two from one ball of yarn! I am also going to try it in some of the WOA that I have left from my Wicked. So there you have it. I hope to share more and see more of what your fingers are knitting up this Christmas too! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

More contests, good Question!

Yay, another contest!
Off to Knitting Up A Storm to see what she wants this time!

She wants your scandals!! Yes indeed, what do you deny, what do you hide? Well, here are my confessions.... feel free to comment, ask a question... or share yours. Enter the contest! You have until Saturday night.
Wow, I guess it's nice to see that such a lovely hobby can have so many side effects! LOL
No one is alone!
Hmmmm, I share so many of the ones that have come before.

1. I think that my knit items are usually better than others in my family and close friends who try the same patterns. This is not always true, and many of us NEVER knit the same things. But I passed on my favorite purse pattern and have seen the results from a few other people.............. not as tight, not as sleek and not as well felted! ;)

2. If someone doesn't show proper appreciation for a knit gift, they will not receive one again. I need to have some bit of appreciation and preening! Complex or not, I do want to hear how much they love the ....... I knit them! I have an ego too, it needs to be stroked occasionally!

and just for good measure........
3. My gauge is excactly that of the ball band. I have yet to have an issue. ( WAtch that bite me in the ass...... knockin' on wood as I type) I don't know if that is a scandal, but I bet it isn't the most poular thing I have said to other knitters!! LOL

LOL, scandalous! I try not to let these feeling effect me when I am with those who have done these things.... you are the only ones who know! Why would I tell them? No need to make them feel bad, besides that is what makes them truly scandalous, that they are not the best side of me. To those few who knit with me weekly and read this blog, this has never occured to my knowledge with you.

On a personal knitting note, I will have some brand new progress pictures up on Ravelry and for here in a day or so. If you have seen my progress bar, then you know what is done and that I have added some new things! I love giving gifts, but packing so many into one month is hard. I started early too, you know that! LOL Oh well, I at least have the satisfaction of knowimt that a few are done! Have a great last two days of the week gang!
LOL ;)

So many pretty things!

ooooo a contest! Who dosen't want to win a contest!
Knitting Up A Storm would like to know how I would spend $200 on yarn! Sweet!

I think I would head to either my LYS and buy some fantastic Berroco ALpalca blend..... however many projects woth I could get out ot $200.... or I would have a blast shopping on Knitpicks, getting five sock yarn skiens to dye, some lace yarn, probable the Alpalca cloud or the shimmer. A sock yarn packet and a knitting circular socks kit. If I have some left over I will pick up the new Son of Stitch and B*tch. I am looking for fun and satisfaction from my purchaces. SOme lovely things to spoil myself with plus some dye experimentation.... you never know!

Check her blog out, she is starting an Esty shop!

Hello

Hey there.... I have been knitting I swear! See...... this is almost done!!

So here I am, busy and not really near a computer too often.
The DF and I are begining a renovation project on his uncle's house..... which we will then move into! YAY!! So exciting! There is a lot of work in the forcast so bear with me! I am getting to knit nights when I can..... and am not yucky sick. Things can get a bit funny! This is my pal knitting her first
Clapotis........ as a matter of fact it's the first one for our whole group! Yes, not one of us has knit this pattern before. There are 8 of us who usually knit together. Yes it's true. I think I may have to try one once my Christmas projects are done. Or do what she is doing, and make it one of my gifts.

I have finished the two-tone pink scarf, and have begun another!! LOL I know you guys must think I am crazy!! I think they make fantastic gifts! These two are for a mother and daughter I know! So the lighter pink is for the daughter and this one is for her Mommy! I hope they like them, I do so love to knit these scarves up!I have also cast on for an Icarus shawl from IK.
I am excited! Lots of pink lately! Funny that none of it is for me.... or telling! LOL I don't really do pink that often, except to knit......

Oh and If you haven't been by
Lotus Knits today, I would go check it out! She has the most amazing sock yarn...... and contests!! Thanks Lotus! Have a great week!

Here you go!

So as you can see I am again knitting stars! LOL
I have some great friends who are very deserving of some special neck warmers this winter.
I have several more to make and I have the colours sitting beside me. YAY!
So beware, you may get sick of seeing double knitting here! LOL
Here is a vest I am working on as well, I have some plans for some new work attire.
I am not sure what this will look like on me.... but I feel like trying! I will probably go for a more subdued colour also. I found these great vintage patterns too, so I am really considering those ones too. I think they look great!

And finally a baby blanket for one of my sisters friends. She really has to learn how to knit...... or pay me better!

I do love how quick they knit up though........ that may also be what I love about the star scarf too. I just get one done in a week, and I feel totally acomplished! LOL So I think that my scarf list has gotten longer...... way longer. I don't know if I really want to count at the moment. Oh well.
Guess I should update my Ravelry too.....
Have you seen Splityarn's blog this week? I love her staple sweater! I think that I will have to knit one up for my guy! He totally deserves it! It is done in Cascade 220, which is lovely.... but I don't know how he would treat it, if you know what I mean..... it should be washable. ;) Have a great week gang! I look foreward to seeing what you are up to!

Lest We Forget

I would like to thank all the men and women who gave their lives in service. Today is Rememberance Day in Canada. We honor all those who are in combat now, and veterans who have gone into combat on our behalf before. Thank your for your great gift and know that you honor us with your courage and dedication! You make us proud to be Canadian!

At the tomb of the unkown soilder in Ottawa today poppies are placed by those in attendance, to thank those who fell and who were not named.

I know that this isn't my usual posting style, but the sacrifice has been great and I feel the need to show my respect in words. Now more than ever.

Thank you. From those who won't forget. Ever.
(we will return to our regular knit posting tomorrow)

Time loss!

Wow, can't belive that it's November already.
I have a few new thing on the needles.... but no pics of the top-down, it seems like it and the camera are never in the same vicinity!
Oh well, I have a vest on needles now too, and some lovely Christmas gifts! :D I did get some great news! My swap packet arrived! YAYY!!!!
I had fun making it and here are some pics for you!

Dang it! it won't let me!!!!

More later, I promise!
Have a great week!

Thanks!

I just wanted to thank every one for their lovely and ego filling comments on my star scarf! I encourage everyone to try it! I used two balls of Bernat Satin. One for each side.

I am finishing the final bit of sleeve on my top-down and I will model for pics soon!
Hope you are having a great week!
(I also hope that I can post more pictures of the Halloween swap packet that I sent out. She has to get it first! Yikes! I really liked that packet, it was some good work, if I do say so myself!)

Too long to wait!

So it has been a little while since my last post. Sorry not to have kept up.
I feel poopy today, and I am a bit down cuz my DF is off on a hunting trip with two buddies. Not that I couldn't have gone, but I don't have all the certification that I need yet. Any how, he will be off in the bush so I worry a wee bit. I have the location and they have GPS, and all that stuff so everything willbe fine. What can I say, I worry.

Anyhow, he has the camera this weekend so when I have FO's I won't be able to post until Tuesday! *dang it*

So I am done the body of the top-down raglan pictured below, and I am almost done the right sleeve. Then the left side and all is done!! YAY!! I am planning on taking this weekend while the man is away to sit and relax a bit.... watch movies he doesn't want to see! LOL

I have done the handwarmers for my DF, they were for this weekend. I have to keep him warm! He has a hat, scarf, socks and now handwarmers from me! I have to get some thicker socks made however and another pair of handwarmers too..... don't want him to have issues if he looses one! LOL Backups are the best idea!

So I also finished another baby blanket and have started a third in the bubbles yarn from Bernat. Yes more for my sister's group of friends. LOL I am going to have to start charging her!
I will be starting on one or two new sweaters this weekend I hope. I have the Rogue ready and waiting.... and I really want to make the Central Park hoodie. You should see the one that Knittypants has up on her site! I love the yarn she has chosen! I have been pondering using that very yarn for a sweater or two! It is so nice to see the Briggs & Little Heritage "Anniversary Twist" used in a garment! She mentions that it is a tough yarn, but I wonder if it is a bit softer on the skin after washing and wearing a few times....... hmmmmmm.

Hope you are all having some lovely fall weather, and have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I hope you all had a great day of turkey, family and friends! I know I did! YAY pumpkin pie! LOL

Here is the start of my newest Top-Down Raglan. I have had this in my stash for ages and I think that it is time to use it up! I was given it and instructed that I could not use thes two huge balls of colourful, oatmeal based aran weight to make an afghan....... darn. So here I am a few years later and I finally have a use for at least one ball! I am not sure if I will have to go over to the other to finish the sleeves, but I will find out in a bit! Since I already have a back-up supply I am not really worried about needing extra!

I decided to add a detail along the sleeves and along the sides under the arms...... cables!

You can see them in there along the sleeve begining. Also a close up of the yarn. I have to admit I am guilty of not knowing what yarn it is, but I can check with the extra ball for the ball band and report in later. The cable is a simple 6 stitch one. I feel like I have said this before, in a previous post so I won't ramble much about it now, but in the re-cap when it is done.

I do have an FO for you too! Another Star Scarf! YAY the double knit! Thanks again to

Crafty Chick for this fantastic pattern! I just love getting one of these done! I will have to update my Ravelry! Off to do that now!

Have a great week everyone!

Thoghts

Why can't I just work on my stuff at home and sell it? Dang it..............
I hate having to work for corperations. I know, you probably all feel close to the same... feel our dissapointment world!

Oh well, enough of that......

So Aimee wants to know what I'd like for Christmas/Birthday. We decided to make gifts this year as opposed to purchase. Here you go hon.

A felted cloche please. (haven't measured my head)
Mittens or hand warmers. (hands are 16cm base to fingertip 6.5cm for thumb to mid-finger)
a fun purse
blue, ribbon tied shrug from Glamour Knits
a pincushion for my wrist
socks (foot is 22cm long)
I dunno................. this is hard. There are tons of things that I want, but I don't know how logical they are. LOL

I guess that is all I can come up with at the moment. I hope that helps. I already know what I am makng for you gang! LOL ;)

Another project beginning?

So I guess now I have to get on to the next project..... I was looking through my ravelry queue and wondering what to get moving on.....
I have no clue! LOL

I do know that a few sweaters are on ther and I wonder if I should start on an new one, or if I should bang out another top-down raglan while I have the modifications in mind.
hmmmmm

So next post should have an image or two for the swap that I am in... the packet is done and I just have to get it sent off to England. I am pretty excited to get her reaction. I like what I have created, and I want her to get it before Halloween..... I can hope that customs will smile on me.
Sorry that I have no pics today. See you later.

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

Hey-lo

So another weekend has tromped on by and I have started packing my things. DF and I have taken out a storage space, and that means that we can store things that we have no space for in our current residence. LOL Kinda obvious I know.... but we also spent Sunday clearing out his grandfather's condo so it can go on the market. Furiture abounds in the storage unit already! I wish we had not come by it the way we did, but that is something that has passed. DF was there for him in the end, so that was a blessing.
So I have already started packing my stash! LOL I have quite a few projects for the next little while, and I don't need it all within arms reach! Down the road at the storage facility will be fine!
Now it's a matter of what to pack next! Hopefully with all this advanced packing, we can find ourselves a new place to move into!

Anyway..... I finished my stripey top-down.... pics to follow.

YAY!!!
Tonight is knit night, and I think we may have some new bodies stop by! That would be fantastic, I met a new friend through Craftster and she moved to my town..... so I invited her out to join our knit group.... easy as that. She knows people who attend her school who have similar likes and intrests in fiber arts! So who know we may have three new bodies! :D

Hope you are having a great week!

Squeeeeee!!!

Oh my goodness......
have you seen the new
Knitty?????

I think that with every season they get better!!!!
I have no idea what I want to start first but it may end up being Mr Greenjeans!
I just love it! The style is fabulous! And the amount of fiber to use is attractive too! :)

I have also been spyin on MagKnits and I found this fantastic pattern! Sweet way to use some of that fantastic coloured sock yarn isn't it?! I love this idea and think that the fact that my LYS is having a yarn sale is just too much torture for a girl! I have to confess I already splurged and bout myself enough fantastic fiber for 3 new sweaters!!! Yikes and YOW! LOL
So I guess there is my stash-expansion confessional! My friend at Illuminating Soul picked up her first drop spindle and is loving it..... she hasn't put it down since her first lesson! We were wicked together! LOL she is looking for some insight on a business name so pop by if you can and help a girl out! LOL

As for what I am up to with all that new, soft, wooly goodness...... not much! Dang it!
I have a few things on the needles already and I know that I want to get some stuff done so I have to get what I am working on now DONE! That top-down raglan is coming along nicely. I don't think I will have it done in the next day though..... yesterday I had to rest my are due to an injury that keeps flaring up..... I don't want to over tax my arm, so I can only get a bit of knitting in in the day...... better to be safe than sorry!
I am working on a few things that I can 't divulge due to their swappy nature, I will take pictures and have those available once the packet is in it's new home!
I also hope to have some information on other things that I have gotten up to lately.... I have a wedding fair to go to on Sunday, so that should be interesting.... and a few other crafty things up my sleeve for this upcoming week. Have a great weekend!

As Promised

Here we are some images of my completed projects! The Baby blankets..... I know that I have to weave in those ends, but I wanted pics before I forget! LOL

It is so nice to have some FO's to show you!

I feel like I haven't finished a thing lately, maybe that has to do with the fact that I haven't really completed anything for myself! Here is the top-down Raglan I started..... I put the sleves on the stitch holders this afternoon. On 5mm needles, Caron Simply Soft in two colours...... as I mentioned in the craftster post I can't get this yarn in Canada so I had to make a be-line for the border and pick some up in WM near Bellis Fair! Wow is this stuff inexpensive! And super soft, have to say I like it!

Thanks for the lovely compliments on the shawl! As I said before I hope to have another started soon...... more weddings! LOL. Here she is modeling it for another guest taking a picture! LOL She actually wore it when she arrived at the reception, but I was off being a sneaky friend and getting their house ready for the first night! So I didn't get a photo of that, but I am sure many did so I will comendere one at the first oppurtunity........YAY!

Isn't she pretty! Even the groom commented on how impressed he was! LOL

Thanks for the comments..... can't wait to hear more!

oh, and a teaser for you......... whatever will it be?

Sunday, September 09, 2007

Finished two baby blankets and started on a top-down raglan sweater for moi!
LOL
YAY!!!

I think we are going plinking in a second so I have to make this quick.
Knitopia in Langley is having a sale on Tuesday.... it's their grand re-opening! Be still my beating heart!
I have been keeping busy and plan to start both another shawl soon, and a second top-down raglan (maybe that second Wicked) in the coming week! :D
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Lacy little number

Here is a nice sight. The begining of a project........

Thought I would give a close up of the lace shawl from the other day, it is making it's way done, so hopefully FO or action shots soon!

I am looking at making similar shawls with different lace " filler". I am actually also going to try several fiber types too...... I picked up a Merino in laceweight from the LYS for the shawl in October. They also carry Fiddle Sticks silk/merino blend..... mmmmmmmmm.

The hemp that I am trying to get my hands on will be available soon, so I need to get cracking!

OH!! I also started something that a few others have mentioned on their blogs...... holiday gifts.

Yes, I started knitting and making holiday gifts. I ran out of time last year to knit all the lovely things I wanted for all the people I wanted! To knit scarves for my family, I have to have 15 done. That is immediate family. No, seriously. So I thought a bit of proactivity would be in order. I am usually a procrastonator, but lately I have learned a valuable life lesson about that....... it really isn't good for me. So I will be trying to deal with those things that I really don't want to tackle as fast as I can. I don't want to have myself backed into a wall again!
So that means cleaning, taking UFO's into that FO stage or frogging them, handmade presents, and stashbusting....... as well as taxes, paperwork and getting my own buisness up and running.
I will keep you posted.

Sunday, August 19, 2007

Hello out there!

So, what a crazy summer! How fast it has gone!! I thought that I would get way more done! I have lofty aspirations I guess............ so I have to stop worring about the projects I haven't finished or started! LOL

Here are a few of the mitered squares that I have been trying to stashbust with! I have made so many baby blankets I have tons of leftover baby yarn. So I have to do something with it, and this is my solution.... LOL

This is what I have been trying to concentrate on lately!

The shawl! One wedding was yesterday so I totally missed that deadline, but I will make her one to have this fall... something in a trendy colour. This one will be done soon though, I have been working on it, and this update photo isn't up-to-date! oops!
So I have another wedding coming up on September 1 and I think this will do nicely.
The next one is in October after this one, which gives me another month. I am using a cotton crochet thread for this. Size 3 "Royal" in Bridal White...... I pick it up at the WM or Zellers. I was really wanting to use something that my LYS carried so I popped in ther and asked, but I really don't want them to be "fuzzy". By that I mean that little hairy halo that some fibers give off, it gets on clothing, and I don't want to cause issues with tuxedos! So this cotton is great, but all the laceweight that my LYS ( Knitopia btw) is fantastic merino, or silk wool blends........... sooo lovely, but not fuzz-free.
The great thing is that LYS sells hemp for knitting! But they have just moved recently and don't have it out......so they are pulling it out for me in a week or two. I will let you know! It's the same hemp that is in the new pattern in the summer Knitty check it out!!
If they have a few colours I think I may make one of them too!
So much for stashBUSTING!!

Thereis life here!!!

So....................... I am fine!

I realize that if you have been popping by there have been no new posts for ages!!
Sorry about that!

Had a few "life events" happen, people engaged, a birthday, planning a stagett, moving my sibling, and sadly a death.
These have kept me exhausted and away from my computer.....
So I will be posting more knitting content in a day or so! I am knitting frantically on a shaw for a wedding next weekend! I was really hoping to have three done, but last weekend I couldn't move my arm!!! It was the worst ever! IT HURT TO KNIT!!!!!
I was ver unproductive while I tried to heal, and I ended up playing pokemon pearl on my DS because I could place it on a flat surface and use my left hand! LOL
Well, I am on the mend..... so I am knitting a bit, but I don't think three shawls will be possible.... but you never know! I do have some progress pics, so I can post those in a bit... it's nice and lacy like the last shawl I knit for a wedding. I like the way it is turning out! Simple cotton though, I didn't want it to be to "hairy" and leave fiber allover whatever it touches.... that isn't the greatest! I have two more weddings in the next two months, and at the very least I will be trying to get a shawl for the brides done. The extra ones will have to wait!

I did get some amazing, and fun news this week! My favorite knitting store moved.... right down the street!!!!! YAYY now I can spend amazing amounts of money on yarn and not have to drive really far..........oh, wait.... is that good? *le sigh*

LOL

So folks I hope that your summer thus fr has been fun and enjoyable, and that it continues to be so! Looking forward to reading your blogs!

Sunday, July 22, 2007

I think that is cool!

Have you been to Fig & Plum lately?

She has something that I want!! Travel Scrabble!
I have to admit that I am not a good Scrabble player, but I really love the idea behind it! I want to have that available! Awesome what you can get up to when you engage your brain!

I got it!!! My
Ravelry invite!!! YAY!!!
I hope that this will be great! I have so much stuff that I want to start and that I have to finish! I am setting up my info now...... YAY!!
So much for knitting or blocking! Heh (blushes)

Saturday, July 21, 2007

Sorry, no wicked update!

I wish I could say that I blocked it and have some results for you, but I didn't!!

Dang it!

I am planning on doing that tonight or tomorrow..... probably tomorrow!

In the meantime I have been sewing some totes for a swap, and organizing swap angels for other issues! Yikes.

I have been making mitered squares when I only have a small amount of time, I will get a picture of those together for you to comment on.... and a pic of the ton of Baby yarn I have leftover from the multitude of blankets I have knit! LOL

I do still have some projects on the go, but I have so much that keeps getting in the way of knitting.... I do have a picture for you....
Have a great and productive weekend (whatever you want to do, do it!)

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

YAY!!!

Here you go, a finished sweater!
But first...... this was my view while I was completing it on the long weekend.

I know!!! Love that view on the porch of my friends house. I just soaked up the rays and enjoyed the lovely noises of the woods.... let the dog hang out and watched the hummingbirds fight over the feeder! LOL Mike likes to keep and eye on me whle I am on the porch, the junebugs are huge!

So anyhow, I did finish my Wicked, and I think I will have to make aonther soon! Here is a shot of it done and being worn by myself!

I'm sure I look really impressed! LOL Boring shot, but trust me the other one is not flattering and I don't really want to share that! Hope you like it! Comments always welcome and I hope that if you have a chance you try out the Wicked pasttern from Zypher knits.
As a recap: I used KnitPicks Wool of the Andes in "Forest Heather" I ordered 12 balls just in case but only needed about 9. I knit the size 40-43. (for my bustyness ;) )
I used a 5mm needle (US 8)
I don't find it scratchy but, I have to admit that I should have tried it on a bit more diligently while in the process of creating. I want to have longer arms on the next one, and I think that the neckline may be a wee bit wide for me. The shaping was perfect! I love that! I also haven't blocked it yet, so we shall see what that does to it. Thanks for looking!

Re-use........

Have you seen Morsbags?
Very neat..... I have to say that I think that this is a great idea!

I came across it through a craftster challenge for August..... design a reusable bag. Since I love knitting bags and I really like the idea of creting grocery bags that I can keep using I was totally inriuged!

I wonder if I can start a pod out here.... anyone up for a day or evening in Langley BC cutting out fabric? LOL

I think I will be making some soon, without a pod. Check it out crafty kids!! I LOVE the idea of eliminating plastic grocery bags!

Pics of today's lovly knitting and my finished sweater later tonight, I swear!!! Until then......my little companions together. (oops I am missing one! I should fix that!)

Baaack

So it's done!!!
Yes I did finish my wicked sweater on the ride home Tuesday!
YAY!!! I even wore it that night.... it got a bit cool.... but alas, I now know that I need to block it. And it is not as perfect as I would like. Then again the majic of blocking has helped many a project from "bottom of the drawer" purgatory! I love the colour, and the yarn I used.... KP Wool of the Andes is not scratchy on the skin.
That said, I do have some modification I will be making on the next one! Little tweaks that I think will make it fit better....
Yes I have pictures, but no camera cable! Dam, I brought the charger and the dock..... but forgot the cable..... I had planned on giving you guys a full update. Sorry. I will have that for later today or tomorrow.
This is great! I am now able to cast on my next sweater! Now that I have done one wicked though....... I will have to do another and soon! I wonder how fast I can get Sonnet done! LOL
Hope you have a great weekend! The sun is shining here and I think I will try to tan my legs a bit!

ohmystars
She rocks! Thanks for the pattern!
Have a great time if you have a long weekend this weekend, and for those from the states.... have a good fourth weekend next week!

Here ya go!

So here they are my update from last week! LOL I know...... sorry about that.
Here is the progress on my Wicked.... which now has some sleeve knitting done on it too! I think that this one will rock! I can't wait to get it done! This will be a repeat knit I think!

And her I am modeling the buttony sweater that I finished ages ago! YAY! it is very warm, acrylic from bernat. I like it.
And finally this week I cranked out two other baby blankets for my sisters pals. I did start another two also...... I hate to have bare needles. Who doesn't!

So now I really want to get some things done, the sweaters, try and have naked needles for a change, I know I said that I hate to have them bare, but I think that I should really try to control my WIPs. That said, I don't know if that is possible, I am still trying to stashbust so I want to make a few teacozies and some baby blanket squares from the leftover yarn.... that way I can just whip one together when I need it! Hope you have all had a great weekend! dinner here tonight for a gaggle of friends so I must scoot! Glad to have posted though! :)

Lotus Knits!: Yarn Contest!

Lotus Knits!: Yarn Contest!

A contest!!

So I saw a contest on Knitting up a Storm.... that linked me to Lotus Knits!
I wish I new how to link them in my text, but I don't yet...... sorry, so look above Lotus Knits! check it out. The contest is pretty easy!

This is the info:
All you have to do to enter the contest is:1.) post a picture on your blog of your first finished knitted item OR what's next in your queue that you *haven't* cast on for yet and 2.) make sure to mention this contest! Scarf, dishcloth, sweater, whatever! I wanna see! Then, 3.) email me at lotusknits@gmail.com (or leave a comment) to let me know you've posted so I can come check out your blog! Let me know what blog you saw the contest on, because for every person that mentions your blog as a referral, you get another entry into the contest.I'll draw two winners on July 4th!

Easy huh......

So I KNOW that my first knitting project is somewhere..... I have no idea where.....( I think it was a scarf.... I am pretty sure of that.)

So here is what I plan on casting on next for:
Actually in order, here are three!
Sonnet from Knitty. I have some fantastic oatmeal heather worsted that I have already swatched for! Now once I finish my wicked this weekend I can cast on for this simple little lovely!
Venus from Spring '07 Knitscene: Love the simple lines!
Sweet Rose from Spring '07 Knitscene, who doesn't love this! This issue was also where I got the bustier pattern for the previous swap project I mentioned a few weeks ago.
I am pretty excited to get these three done! i do have a Sweater KAL to keep up with! LOL I am three sweaters behind.....
these should do the trick. Oh, and Lotus Knits! if you have a chance I think that CastonErika has already got the requirements up on her blog..... LOL well, it was a thought. Thanks for having this great contest! (You guys should check out her yarns, they are fantastic handdyed!)
See you guys later... with those pics I promised last week! LOL

YAY!....saturday

So, all is well. I got home this morning at about 7:45...... after staying up all night.
I did not knit alot, sad to say, my hands kept getting cold so I had to put some gloves on and gloves and knitting don't seem to go together. The shirst were a hit.... and yes I have pics of them, to be viewed at another date. I slept until about 2:30 this afternoon..... yikes! we did have fun though, it is always a good time on the track!

My partner in the Pinup Swap 3, chimerix.... HAS HER PACKET!
So I can show you some of my handi work, but not as much as I'd like.... our computer had an overhaul today and I lost all my saved patterns, photos and gosh knows what else! I would cry.... but it's just a computer..... and I am sure I can find new things. LOL

So here are the t-shirts that I made for her and the DH.....

I embroidered the name of the swap on the left sleeve of each shirt. DH gets the marine girl!
Oh, and some pendants I made to go in the packet. A bit bigger to give the detail. I really hope she liked them.... She hasn't posted her response yet.... So I don't know what her favorite is. LOL
I had a good time making it, the whole packet............ always fun. I did knit her something, and yes it can get in my way of knitting personal things.... so I think I will be taking a bit of a break from swapping. I have one more packet to get done and that will be sewing, so the end result is a bit faster to get to.
But I think that the end result for her was worth it. A bustier from the most recent Knitscene, it was fun to make! I don't have a good shot of it..... but I am hoping that she will model it and post it up on craftster! LOL hope your weekend is going well!

Relay tonight!

Sooooo tonight we relay!!!
So I am shamelessly pointing you toward the button on the sidebar for tonight to get a few more donations...... that would be great!. As you can see I was busy last night with a bit of creative teamspirit building!! LOL

I only painted 5 so I am not totally crazy. As you can see on the site, last year our outfits were a bit boring! So here we go with some spice! LOL

Since it is a relay, I won't be going around the track the whole time... so I am planning on getting some knitting in. I don't think that I will be bringing Wicked though, it may rain tonight and that would not be the best idea. So I am bringin baby blanket knitting and soem stashbusting stuff too! Yay!!

Oh and I got a new friend in the mail from bhean!!! Isn't she cute!! Thanks bhean!!! I think she is great! Have a great weekend everyone! More to come from me!

Wonder of wonders......

Knitting!!!
YAY!!!
Here is my progress on my Wicked: almost done the shaping. I have extended it a bit as I have heard that many people wish it was longer, and it does look short on them. So I decided to be proactive but I only added about an inch so far.... we shall see! I love this! It knits up so great.... and the yarn is great to work with! I have also heard a rumor that WOTA from knitpicks is scratchy, I hope not. It has been great to work with so far! I guess I will have to finish this one before I can order more in other colours! To be on the safe side! :)

So I also have news about my pinup girl swap! I got my box!!! Look at all the goodies! ( BTW that little pink knitting up ther with wicked...... was for my partner Chimerix for this swap. I can't tell you what it was.... it may spoil the suprise! Ihope she likes it!

We agreed to spoil each other! She kept her end of the bargian, and I have to say that I feel no anxiety at this stage about my end either! I got tons of goodies! She is a seamstress so she made me things that I would never have made for myself! She doesn't knit..... so I did the same!

Comment always welcome! I love hearing from you guys! Take care and have a great last two weekdays! Friday night I am off to the Relay for life!!! YAY GO BEACHBABES GO

LOL

Sunny Weather!

So it's sunny outside and it has been warm for the past few weeks!
Boy do I have a tan...... except on my legs. I wear pants to work and it really shows...
So today I think that I will take my knitting project outside to catch some rays in my shorts to try and even this issue out! LOL
I do have update photos on my Wicked.... but I don't have the dock to download!!!

Dangit!
So I will have to post again tomorrow or Monday with some knitting eye candy!
I have been knitting a new project too, for my Pinup swap 3.

I got my pacage in the mail and boy did I get spoiled! I am so glad that my return package spoils her too! LOL No swap anxiety for me! no sir!

A little mood lightener for you:

LOL so I got "tag-backed" by my bud Knittyknitter.

Now I'm IT!

LOL so I was tagged.....
Ooooh, I've been tagged by Vegan Crafttastic And here's how it all goes down: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged need to write on their own blog 7 facts as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

Soooooo....
um,

1. I like video games..... mostly Resident Evil (aka Biohazard) and the Zelda series.
2. I have passed my CORE and PAL.
3. I have a bachelors degree in Visual Arts.
4. I want to own a horse.
5. I really like earthships, they are very neat!
6. My favorite chip flavor is dill pickle.
